Update: Application approved

McCarthy and Stone is pleased to announce plans to redevelop the former YMCA building on Grosvenor Drive into a mixture of one and two bedroom apartments specifically designed for older people have been approved. The proposals will introduce a development offering a unique opportunity to redevelop a redundant site with much needed retirement housing for local people.

As you may already be aware, McCarthy & Stone previously submitted a planning application for high quality Category II type retirement living housing for older people in 2006. However, this was refused planning permission and since then the site has lain vacant. The new scheme took into account the comments and concerns raised previously and looks to create an attractive new residential scheme with an improved development style.
